Trekking in Nepal


Nepal is a small south Asia country which is also known as a country of Mt. Everest and hierarchy of great Himalayan trails. The great Himalayan trails is a extensive trails that is expanded to the west Humla & Drachula and in the east Kanchajunga. Nepal is one of the most visited country in Asia cause of Towering mountains and cultural sites.  There are so many biodiversities in Nepal which are rarely found in the world. The Lowes elevation in Nepal is only 60 m above sea level and the highest point is 8848m (Mt. Everest) but these two point if we measure straight the two pints are only 200 KM apart. There are thousands of trekkers visits Nepal each day via Tribhuvan international airport or border of India Sunauli. Kathmandu is a capital city of Nepal where we should make trekking permits as an option to make permit for Annapurna region you can make from Pokhara permit office at Damside .either you have trekking agency with you or your self you have to make permits however, if you book your trip via local travel agency it will be much easier for you. Make sure that you have all essential documents with because during your trek there will be several check point where you have to show those authorized permit for your safety and to respect the nation.Trekking in Nepal is the main attractions for travelers. and as per their time in Nepal  they can choose where to go & how long . there are a day hiking up to a months treks around .

Trekking field in Nepal was not so good before 1950s only when Hillary and Tenzing submitted Mt. Everest than people knew that there are many peaks in Nepal and many trekking regions including Everest. When climbers started to visit Everest region than tourism field raised up slowly because the people started to follow the climbing team to see that’s how each years the number of trekkers increased.

Trekking in Nepal now a days completely different than trekking around 50s.There  are many facilities for trekkers where ever they trek around Nepal now such as Accommodation, village along the way, well maintain walking path, conservation area permit for safety and chances to interact with so many different people you meet during your trek in Nepal.

The Accommodations are well chosen now and also you can charge your electrical devises in each tea house/lodge beside that few years there are internet/wifi services around major trekking area of Nepal. There are many off roads under constructions that is not so nice for trekking in Nepal but if they can manage the alternative walking path than the tourism field temporarily stay at same position and grows up .

There are mainly 4 major trekking region as it is easily accessible to visit The Everest trekking region is the most visited area trek where 5 to 600 trekkers visit every day in Oct & Nov similarly the Annapurna Circuit trek, Poon hill trek ,Manaslu trek and Lantang trek. Trekkers are rewarded when they venture the Himlayan region especially The great Himalayan trails which offers you completely different experience in the vast Himalayan terrain and undiscribable local culture. The great himlayan trail located to the western part mostly as it is quite far from the capital of Nepal however, to go to great Himalayan trail and back domestic flights are required.

When is the best Month to go to Nepal

Although trekking in Nepal can be organized throughout the year, September through May is considered to be the best months for trekking. Summer months of the year which coincides with monsoon begins in mid-June and drains in mid-September making travel wet and warm. The mountain views may not be at their best as rain clouds and haze over hang the mountains occasionally obscure the enchanting views. These times are blessed for the keen botanist as the higher valleys and meadows blossom with flowers and lush vegetation. During monsoon it does not mean that it will rain every day. Besides, some of the most frequented trails will not be crowded and some people like it that way. It can actually be enjoyed in the upper part of the Annapurna circuit around Marfa, Jomsom and Muktinath as the monsoon does not get in this trans- Himalayan are because they fall into rain shadow area. Note: - It is recommended to carry insect repellent when trekking during summer months. 

Autumn being the best season for trekking, affronts excellent weather and tantalizing mountain views January and February are noted for cold weather with occasional snowfall at higher elevations. Again, excellent views are common. These months are popular and ideal for trekking for those who are well equipped or who remain at lower elevations below 3,000 meters. 

Late February brings spring in Nepal and offers exhilarating trekking for those who are interested in flowers, birds and natural grandeur. Different varieties of wild flowers, specially the rhododendrons make the hill side above 8,000 ft haunting paradise during this season. 

April and May are the expedition season and the best time for climbing the high peaks. It is mildly warm at lower elevations but occasional haze mars beautiful view of mountains. At higher elevations over 4,000 meters the mountain views are excellent and the temperature is quite moderate even at night.

Trek Preparation:

You do not need to be a mountaineer with rippling muscles to enjoy trekking. If you are reasonably fit, have a sprit of adventures and are not afraid of walking, you qualify. Nepal trek will fully take care of all the details. All you have to do on the trails is concentrate on putting one foot before the other. On many popular trekking trails, you can also trek in what is known as ‘teahouse style' eating and staying in the many lodges and teahouse on the way instead of camping in tents. Teahouse treks are run only in the popular areas. If you are looking wilderness and off the beaten track then you will have to choose fully supported camping treks

Best trekking Seasons in Nepal:

Trekking is possible at anytime of the year depending on where you are going.The most popular seasons are Spring (February-May) and Autumn (September-December). Winter is very clod above 4000m. And high mountain passes may be snowbound, but it is good for trekking at lower altitudes. During the Monsoon season (June-August), you can trek in the rain-shadow areas north of the Himalayan like Mustang, upper Manang and Dolpo. These places are out of reach of the rain clouds because of the high Mountains and are unaffected by the Monsoon.
