Overview

This short 10 day trek provides an opportunity to see spectacular views of the Everest Region, including Mt. Everest and magical mountain lakes. If you do not have the time to trek to Everest Base Camp this is an excellent alternative. After an exhilarating flight to Lukla you enter Sherpa country. These friendly people will make your stay in this region one that you will never forget. You will be immersed in their culture and witness their traditional lifestyles in the foothills of the Himalaya. 

Gokyo trekking route takes you through enchanting villages such as Namche Bazaar, Khumjung and Gokyo. The views are breathtaking and include, Mt. Everest (Sagarmatha) at 8848m, Mt. Choyo 8200m, Mt. Lhotse 8505m, Makalu to name a few, carving glaciers and five pristine mountain lakes. This trek follows the highly praised trekking route along the Dudh Koshi River to its source at Gokyo Lake which is west of the Everest Base Camp, giving you the opportunity to summit Gokyo Peak (Gokyo Ri, 5383 meters).

Itinerary

DAY 1: Kathmandu airport(1350m).

As you told us the time and air company you are landing we will be at airport with private vehicle to pick up you. We welcome you with flower made necklace than drop you to your hotel.

DAY 2: Fly to Lukla(2840m) thanTrek from Phakding(2650m)

It is our early morning weak up day because we will have early flight to Lukla in a small plane about 30 minute than we reach at Lukla. Once we reach there we will manage our bags and day walking cloths than walk about 3 hours Gradual down passing many buddies prayer flags, mani walls, Stupas and beautiful landscape. It is short and easy day. We will stay in Phakding village.

DAY 3: Trek to Namche bazaar(3450m).

We need to finish our breakfast before 8 o’clock in the morning than we have to start top walk from Phakding. There will many suspension bridges and few Sherpa residency area till we walk Jorsalle which is 3 hours walk from Phakding. After passing Jorsalle we go again along the river and need to cross 2 more bridge to get the proper steep way to Namche. After crossing those bridges after Jorsalle we have to walk steeply 2 more hours through pine forest and check point than we will be in Namche. It is where we going to get our sleeping room.

DAY 4: Rest day

It is generally the ruls when you cross 3400 meters you should spent some there at list one extra night which helps you not to have mountain sickness. There are few popular place where we going to visit with your guide such as museum, everest view spot, national parl museum and Gompa. Overnight in Namche.

DAY 5: Trek to Dole(4100m)-5hrs walk

After having two night in same place Namche we will be more stronger and also acclimatized so first we walk a bit steep about 20 minute after that it will super easy walk on the flat and wide trail till Kyanjuma and Sanasa. while you are between Kyanjuma and Namche the view will be just unbelievable and marvelous. The narrow and steep small trails leads you steeply up towards Mogh Danda after we pass Sanasa than after Mong Danada we go down again to the river and upwards to Dole which is lovely small area has big lawn and fantastic mountain view. Most of the time after passing Mong danda we will walk through forest that means we might get to see some Musk deer, black buck and mountain goat. Overnight  in Dole.

DAY 6: Trek to Machhermo(4400m)

It is your easy walking day after you finish your breakfast in the lodge you just walk gradually up in a open area and spectacular views around including Mt. Choyo 8000 M High. It is only 3 hours walking passing some turning and zigzag way. Overnight in Machhermo.

DAY 7: Trek to Gokyo (4750m) - 4 to 5 hrs

After your breakfast you going to walk gradually uphill along the valley towards Gokyo and glacier, it is also open area but paradise scenario around .When you walk 3 hours from Machhermo after passing Luza and Fanga you will get to see the beautiful blue lake next to the glacier. So in total you going to walk about 5 hours. Over night stay in the lodge of Gokyo.

DAY 8: Trek back to Machhermo(4400m)-7 hrs

Its going to be your long day including the time you go up to Gokyo ri (5380m),It is really high peak where as the view of Mt. Everest , Mt.Choyo Lakes, Glacier and many uncountable mountains that you can explore and back to Gokyo again after that still you have to eat your breakfast than descending straight via same way you took a day before to Machhermo. You going to stay one night there in tea house.

DAY 9: Trek to Khumjung(3780m)- 6 hrs

Our group need to be ready again in the morning for the day adventure which is also the same trail we gonna follow till near Sanasa than we have to climb 20 minute to reach at Khumjung. Which is old and historical village of Sherpa community as well as the Hillary school, old khumjung Gompa, wide and colorful houses. We sleep one night there in the lodge.

DAY 10: Trek to Phakding(2660m)- 5 hrs

It is your 2nd last walking day in khumbu Everest region. This day we just descend all the time through the forest, steep trail, suspension bridges, and few Sherpa village. After 5 hours easy walk along the river you will get to Phkding where we stay.

DAY 11:  Trek to Lukla

We can  start our journey quite late this day as we have only 3 hours walk to Lukla and in Lukla there is not many things to see and explore around so we can start late breakfast than walk to Lukla. Once we reach at Lukla we have to manage the farewell dinner with guide and porter who helped your each and every steps during your trip. Overnight in Lukla.

DAY 12: Fly to Kathmandu.

We will fly in the morning basically but depents how is the weather over there so when we reach in kathmandu airport we will also provide you the private drop service to your hotel. Overnight in kathamndu.

DAY13: Departure day

Our airport co coordinator will drop you on time as you told us the date and time.

Essential Infos

Accommodations:

During your stay in Kathmandu you will be accommodated in a clean and net hotel in Kathmandu with an attached private room. All accommodations during your trek are on a twin-shared basis. On request, we can supply you with a single bed accommodation too.

The Kathmandu hotel has attached bathroom, while the tea houses during your trek in most places only have shared bath- and toilet facilities. However, single rooms are readily available in Kathmandu and at most trekking regions in the lower ranges. They might be more difficult to find the higher you travel

Meals during trekking:

You will be able to experience authentic, home cooked meals. However, if you chose, there is also an international cousin (Tibetan, Continental, Italian, Indian, etc.) available.

Breakfast and dinner will be served in a tea house or lodge. Here we will also rest for the night. Lunch, on the other hand, is served during our trip to the next destination. While trekking, all meals will be provided. However, during your stay in Kathmandu, only breakfast will be provided. As a special bonus,

Physical Condition & Experience:

The main trekking region Everest, Annapurna and Manasalu is a moderate trek suitable for passionate walkers who can walk at least 4-7 hours a day with a light rucksack. Some days, the walking hours will stretch to 7 – 8 hours.

You might already know, walking in high altitude is more demanding, due to restricted oxygen, then when trekking in lower heights. You will need excellent health and average physical fitness. Bring a positive attitude to the trek and some determination; all the rest will come by itself. Together we can succeed.

It is advisable to start doing exercise several weeks before your holiday trip to Nepal. This will give you the needed stamina and give you additional strength. You will definitely benefit from some past hiking experience, but this is not really required for this trip.

Cautions:

If you have a pre-existing medical condition such as a heart- lung-, and blood diseases it is an imperative to inform safe holiday adventure pvt.ltd before making a booking. We also recommend that you consult with your doctor before travelling to the Himalayan. Don’t forget your travel insurance.

Best time to travel to Nepal:

Spring (Feb to May) and then again

Autumn (September to December 15) are the best months for this trip.

Although this trip can be accomplished during winter, the cold temperature might not be suitable for everyone but if you prefer to trek when there is not many trekker that is possible too and easy to find accommodations during your trek.
