ABOUT THIS TREKKING :
Annapurna trekking and Annapurna Range is a memory you will never forget. The first light over the majestic panorama including Annapurna I and Dhaulagiri (both over 8000m) is nothing short of magical. This is one of the famous trekking routes in Nepal. You can experience the traditions and culture of the Gurung people, ancient agricultural systems, terrace fields, mountain flora and fauna with majestic Himalayas as a back drop. The Gurungs are famous not only for their hospitality but as their role in the UK as the brave Ghorkha soldiers. The Annapurna ragionhas many Mongolian and Tibetan people who have migrated there over the years.Ethnic groups include Poon Magar,Gurung and Tamang, they have own language but still they speak Nepali. As part of the trip you can visit an old village called Ghandruk. Here you can learn more about the local people in the Gurung museum experience Buddhism in the monastery and wonder around the village soaking up the views of Machhapuchhare (FishTail 6993m) mountain.
The popular Annapurna trekking is close to the city of Pokhara and after only two days ofTrekking you can summit Poon Hill for the most memorable sunrise of your life. Options from here are incredibly variable you may choose (if you are short on time) to descend back to Pokhara or you may choose to extend your adventure in the Annapurna Conservation Area to include part of or the entire world famous Annapurna Circuit. The 7 day Ghorepani trek is thebest short trek in this area (in my experience) as within a week you get to see an unbelievable sunrise view of Annapurna Range from Poo hill which is 3210m ad gain a real insight into the culture of the hill people.
