Khopra off the beaten trek lies to the midwest of Nepal and it's inside the Annapurna conservation area. this trekking route is not so famous as Ghorepani poon hill and even circuit but it is just different and these days Khopra trekking route being popular as it is really beautiful and quiet, it means you get to explore the real things around and many wild animals. this trekking normally takes 5 days which is suit for trekkers and also if you want to extend your days around you can finish your trek to Phedi through Dhampus which is also beautiful trail way back to Pokhara.

Khopra trekking knowns as Khair trekking routes, Khopra ridge trek, and even some local names. this trekking can be sued for any kind of trekkers because it is more trekking and also your food, accommodation and your other essentials can be seen and found there. Khopra trekking route is the best-uncrowded area where you get to see over 8000 meters high mountains including Annapurna I (8090 MTR) and Dhaulagiri98167 MTR).

Itinerary

DAY 01: Arrival day in Kathmandu and prepare for the trekking,

Safe holiday adventure Pvt. Ltd will provide Private vehicles to pickups you from Airport to your Hotel. Our airport representative will be waiting for you at the airport with your name. As you provided us the time you are landing in Kathmandu.

DAY 02: Kathmandu to Pokhara Drive,

We begin our day early in the morning at 7 am from Kathmandu Jamal. It is 200 km west drive from Kathmandu passing many zigzag trails but on Prithibi highway. It is lovely scenic bus ride along truly river and terrace field. The bus will stop twice a time before we reach Pokhara for food and Restroom because it is not that long distance drive but it is not wide road takes 7 hours to reach in Pokhara.

DAY 03: Private car/jeep drive to Nayapul than trek to Ghandruk(1850m)

After we take breakfast in Pokhara hotel we will get our private transport to Nayapul(107m) which is 42 km and takes 1.15 minute than we begin our walk for the first day. We will follow the Nayapul bazaar to the east side after we step out from the Car/Jeep. It is lovely deep valley we going to follow and Modi River to the side as well as beautiful Himalaya farming. This day after drive we just walk about 4 hours passing, rivers, terrace field and farming, Mountain View, traditional houses, and villagers. Overnight at Ghandruk.

DAY 04: Ghandruk to Tadapani(2660m),

We begin our day after breakfast at Ghandruk. today we only walk about 3 hours through the Rhododendron forest, and unbelievable landscapes.

Day 05: Trek from Tadapani village to Bayli Kharka (3450m)-7 hrs walk

Today we will leave our main trail of Annapurna leads you to Ghorepani and we will follow the small trail towards the Rhododendron Forest. We continue walking up the hill through the forest and we reach Water buffalo pastures. The peaceful environment and forest walk is just really cool walking than we pass all forest area and recently we can see a magnificent mountain panorama. We will stop for lunch before Bayli Kharka and we continue walking up to small pass than downhill easy walk to Byali Kharaka. It is really peaceful small settlement area where we will spend one night.

Day 06: Bayali Kharka to Upper Chistibung(2,950m)- 4 to 5 hours

We take our early breakfast before 8 am in the same lodge where we slept last night than we begin our day journey following the open ground trail going down to Chistibung.it is a small place where we will take our lunch then we walk still in to the forest following the gradual ascending trail and need to pass some buffalo grazing pressures than we reach Upper Chistibung. It is where we will spend one night in the community lodge.

Day 07: Trek from Chistibung to Khopra Danda (Khopra Danda)(3660m)-5 to 6 hrs walk

Today we will have to make a steady climb to reach Khopra Danda. We will take our breakfast and follow the small trail leads you above the tree line. In this are you might see some wild animals such as Himalayan Thar (Mountain Goat), Danfe (Pheasant). We kindly requested to you to go very slow in this part because of altitude and steep uphill and also you can take a rest whenever you feel tired. Today by lunchtime we will be in Khopra Danda already than we can get your accommodation. It is such a wonderful ridge to explore so many mountains including Annapurna south(7219m) which is really close only 6 km away from Khopra ridge and also there are another many mountain views. The best part of the day is there when you reach Khopra ridge because you can see a very close view of Dhaulagiri (8167m), Kali Gandaki valley. Overnight in Khopra danda Community Lodge.

Day 08: Sight walks around Khopra Danda.

Today we have two options for fit trekkers and other trekkers. There is beautiful Khair-lake(4600m), where only fit trekkers used to go because it is 9 to 10 hrs walk to go and back and there is no tea house, nothing in between. So we only recommend you to go if you are perfectly fit.

There is also a great sight walking destination for the day called Thanti(4210m), it takes about 6 hours to go and back to Khopra ridge. At Thanti, there are some Yak herders to stay during monsoon which is just natural. Khair lake is a pilgrims site where many Hindu people go there to celebrate Hindu’s festival Janaipurnima, it comes each year in July-August. There will be so many people at this festival time and they spent 2 night over there. They use Yak herders to sleep. It is a beautiful place. Overnight in Khopra Danda.

Day 09: Khopra Danda to Swanta (2400m)-5 to 6 hrs walk

Today we start the day after breakfast again and we will take a small trail going through the ridge of hillside.we going to follow the same trail we took way up till Chistibung than we will ascend to Swansea. It is where we will spend one night.

Day 10: Trek from Swanta to Ghorepani(2820m)- 6hrs walk

We have to follow the trail again which is going steeply downhill through the farming, suspension bridge, and some Villages after that we will follow the trail which is connecting to Chitre village which is massif Magar and Poon village. The walking trail will be steeply up now after passing Chitre village on the stone made steps till Ghorepani. Ghorepani is a popular trekking area where we met such an insane mountain panorama. overnight at Ghorepani Lodge.

Day 11: Hike to Poonhill than trek to Hille Thikhedunga(1560m)- 5hrs walk

We begin our walk really early for an hour hike up to Poonhill without our big bag pack. It is an hour steep walking than we will reach poon hilltop. The view from there will be spectacular and all around from your standing point. After Poonhill hike we go back to the hotel to get our bag and breakfast than we descend to Hille. We just follow the main trail through the Rhododendron forest. we will pass Nange that after 1 hour descends from Ghorepani than one by one Banthati, Ulleri, and Hille. Hille is a beautiful farming area where many Gurung people used to live. Overnight at Hille Thikhedunga.

Day 12; Trek from Hille to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara(850m)-3hrs walk and 1.30minute drive

It is our last walking day and also it is a really easy walking day. We just follow the wide off-road gradually descend about 3 hours then we will reach Nayapul which is next to Baglung High way. We will take a private transport from Nayapul to Pokhara. Overnight in Pokhara.

Day 13: Drive to Kathmandu.

We will take a fresh and healthy breakfast in Pokhara hotel than we will take tourist standard bus to Kathmandu. It is about 7 hrs drive via Prithibi highway. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 14: Departure

On time as you have your flight from Nepal to your hometown or your next destination, I will provide private car/jeep to drop you to Kathmandu TIA airport. Thank you for your wonderful behave and hope to see you in the future.

What is the maximum weight for a porter in Nepal?

Nepal tourism board published some rules and regulation for porters who used to work generally with tourist they carry 25 kg , so in general you will get one porter for two trekkers it means one trekker need to make their weight about 12.5 kg and if you have extra clothes or any extra things that you bought from your country you can leave in hotel locker in Kathmandu once you are back you will get it, it is safe.

What is the maximum weight can I take to Lukla in a plane?

Flying to Lukla we will be in a small plane whereas just 14 to 16 people in one plane it is small this is why there is short of strict rules need to be just 15 kg per person as a luggage and small day bags as a hand carry you can take with you. if you have any extra things in your bag you can leave in Kathmandu hotel before you leave than it helps a lot to repack and to follow the rules. Still, after repacking your bag have more than 15 kg you have to pay 5 USD per kg than you can fly in or out.

How much do I need to tip for guide and porter?

Tipping things is not compulsory but it is highly expected from field staff during your trek in Nepal such as waiter Driver, Guide porters. Mainly if you are in Nepal and doing more than week trip with guide or with porter you can tip about 100 USD for guide and 80 USD for porter but if they make your special trip with lots of information take caring and you feel safe all the time with them than you can add more tip on top of that.
