Most people, when thinking of Nepal, think of Mt. Everest as well. Even people who do not know much about Nepal have heard of the Everest trekking region. There is hardly anyone who would not want to travel and experience the magic of Everest.

The Everest trekking region offers the visitor a range of the most beautiful mountains in the world. Top of them all is the mysterious Mt. Everest. A convenient way to get to the Everest Base Camp

The trek begins with a flight to Lukla. At an altitude of 2845 m, the airport in Lukla is the highest airport in the world and the gateway to the Everest region. Besides the airport, there are a few hotels intended to cater to the visitors’ needs.

From here we take a descending trail down to the Dudhkoshi river and to Phakding. Next, we travel through the “Sagarmatha National Park” and continue to Namche. This buzzing town has historical relevance and was once a popular trade center. You will love its small pathways with their Dzopke(Yak crossed with local cow) and the museum of Namche. Here you can see the grand gallery and its exhibits mountaineering-related memories.

Syangboche airport is another tourist attraction and the closest airport to Everest Base Camp. It is an unpaved airstrip serving the village of Namche Bazaar. One of its highlights is the magnificent view from the Everest View Hotel.

Namche is the spiritual hub of the region. People visit the Tengboche Monastery in an attempt to enhance their spirituality and faith. For trekkers, on the other hand, Namche is the perfect place to breathe in the grandeur of the mountain range.

From Namche Bazaar, the trek leads through Dingboche, Lobuche, and Gorakshep. The highlight of the Everest Trek is the Everest Base Camp. From here you enjoy the magnificent view to Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Ama Dablam; to mention only a few.

A hike to Kalapattar brings you an unforgettable sunrise. An opportunity to behold the beauty of Mt. Everest.

A visit to the cerulean blue Gokyo lakes and Gokyo RI  is a must-visit whenever you are in the Everest region.
