Cultural Ruby valley trekking

Overview

Cultural Ruby Valley trekking is a popular Trek in the heart of the Langtang National Park. On one side it touches the Manaslu Conservation Area. From here you get one of the best views of Ganesh Himal I (7429 m.), II (7118 m.) III (7110 m.) Manaslu (8163 m.) This will make a lasting impression on you. But it is not only the impressive mountains, from up here you get an exceptional view of the Himalayan Valley Trek as well.

Trekking through Nepal is never for the faint-hearted. Many before you have tried it, but not everyone succeeded. For centuries, the awesome Himalayan Ranges have lured many tourists, not recognizing that here beauty comes, indeed, with unforeseen danger. Therefore, all treks are put together and are guided by trekkers with many years of experience, sufficient First Aid training, multicultural experience; many even speak several languages.

The cultural Ruby Valley Trek is included in the Peregrine Treks. Package. The Ruby Valley Trek stretches, from the Langtang National Park to the Manaslu Conservation Area. Most of the crew members who guide you through the Peregrine Treks are from this region. They are very helpful trekkers and show you the area as only a local could do. This includes the region’s culture and customs as well.

The Ruby Trek can be accomplished in two parts:

  • The panoramic views of the Ganesh Himal Ranges or
  • Through the Manaslu Ranges

You will also see the twin cascades of Ganga & Jamuna as well as the peculiar lifestyle of the Tamang, Gurung, and other ethnic communities.

The Ruby Valley Trek begins in the Syaprubeshi of Rasuwa. To get there, we will take a bus from Kathmandu.

The trek revolves around the Nepali districts of Nuwakot, Rasuwa, Dhading, and Kathmandu. The best season for a Ruby Valley Trek is during March & April. At this time of the year, the forest looks like red painted with all the blossoming rhododendrons.

Besides the breathtaking natural attractions, the Ruby Valley Trek offers monasteries, ponds, flora, fauna, hilly farming landscapes, laid out in terraces as well as mineral mines. However, there are also many birds and endangered animals like the Thar Deer, Red Pandas (rarely seen), Snow Leopard and monkeys to experience. They all can be observed in their natural environment.

The Cultural Ruby Valley Trek is within a restricted region and offers an enchanting experience regarding nature and culture. It always pays to hire a local trekking crew. Not only will you help those devoted trekkers, but you will also help the entire region. Only the local guides can offer you the authenticity of Nepal, and besides that, if you are traveling on a budget, local crews are way cheaper, yet equally safe, than hired through an agency.

The trip to Nepal was a great experience.  I organized the tour (10 days) with Santosh Gauli . Very good flexibility on his part to change the program to suit our needs (both of time and things to see). Santosh welcomed us at the airport and we have always followed the best.
